Dimensions become more meaningful when each is tied to a use or relationship. A list of preferred sizes is a starting point for discussion, not a finished specification.
Separate overall dimensions, visible proportions and the room measurements supporting them. Record why each matters. Identify details that depend on another decision, such as a height related to existing seating. Leave unknown construction or mounting dimensions for the appropriate discussion.
A preferred console width may be about its relationship to a wall picture. Writing down that reason leaves room to revise the number while preserving the design intention.
Use these prompts to produce a short record you can revisit. Date the sheet, identify the reference you used and leave unknowns explicitly unanswered. Keep site facts, personal preferences and requests for confirmation separate.
Do not infer structural dimensions, load limits or mounting requirements from a visualization. Final design and dimensions require recorded approval.
Keep the resulting note with your current brief. Before sending it, check that it explains one decision clearly and does not turn a preference into an agreed detail. Use the current linked page for the relevant website guidance, and bring any piece-specific uncertainty to the atelier.
